DNSSEC [Domain Name System Security Extensions] Print

  • 6

We do support DNSSEC [ Domain Name System Security Extensions ].

DNSSEC bolsters your website's security by ensuring the authenticity of its DNS path. When activated, DNSSEC prevents third parties / malicious actors from directing your visitors to fake versions of your sites by verifying the digital signatures of DNS data. By turning on DNSSEC, you reassure your visitors that they are safely connecting to your authentic website, thus safeguarding their experience and enhancing your site's credibility.

Procedure

To enable DNSSEC for a domain:

  1. Navigate to the cPanel interface for the domain.
  2. Select the Zone Editor.
  3. Click on the DNSSEC button in the row of the domain you wish to enable DNSSEC on.
  4. On the right-hand side, click the "Create Key" button. A pop-up will appear.
  5. Click Create on the pop-up box. It will be dismissed, and you will see an interface with your DS records.
  6. Copy those records to the appropriate interface at your domain's registrar. Since every registrar has a unique process, we're unable to provide detailed steps for this part.
  7. If you need the public key instead of the digest records, return to the DNSSEC page within the Zone Editor. By clicking the View Details arrow on the left edge of the DNSSEC record, you can export your public key.
